Thanksgiving & a Birthday

Well its hard to believe, but Conner's 2nd birthday is here. Technically its Saturday the 24th, but we celebrated it with family at Thanksgiving.

Conner made out like a bandit with some pretty cool new toys, including a train table, a race car track and aquadoodle pad.
And for the first time in several years, my entire family was together. My sister, who lives in Tennessee, flew out as well to spend the holiday with us.
Below are some photos of the big day!

Uncle John comes to visti!

Today my brother came to visit us for the week during Thanksgiving. Conner loves spending time with him playing.

Here he's sitting on John's lap while John takes pictures with his laptop camera and distorts them with some software. This is great cuz Conner never sits on anyone's lap. Unfortunately Uncle John lives in Baltimore, so we only get to see him a couple times a year.

How to keep a toddler busy

I wanted to share these photos of Conner while I was making dinner one night. Unfortunately they don't really do it justice, as shortly after I took these he not only had the bottom 2 sections empty, but the top one as well as all the pots and pans. You couldn't walk in to the kitchen without stepping on something!

But it comes in handy as it keeps him busy while I cook dinner, and its easy to find my ingredients, lol!

No Longer Single!

Well for those of you close enough to know, my hubby has been working on a massive project for work for the last several months. He was promoted to a new level within his company purposefully to lead this program, and while that was fantastic, what it meant was 16 hour days, 7 days a week of work. He worked hard to get a proposal put together for his company to bid on a huge program, and on Tuesday the program was FedExed to the customer, and thus the work, for now, ended. So I will actually be seeing him this weekend, yay!!

But that's tempered by his boss wanting to "thank" him and some of his staff by inviting us to a formal dinner party. I'm mortified! LOL. These are Vice Presidents who are in a total social class different from me, and I'm scared to death to go to this thing tomorrow! Not to mention my fat pregnant body doesn't fit in to much at the moment that would be appropriate. I have no idea what I will talk about with any of them, unless they're interested in hearing about how many Braxton Hicks I'm having and my recent bed battles with my 2 year old.

So we shall see. As long as I don't embarass myself or my hubby, it should hopefully all go well.

At least with him being a VP of a major defense company, it probably means some fairly good grub!

Baby Iain

Today was our 4D ultrasound to see the new baby. Baby Iain cooperated for the most part, although he insisted on having his hands and feet up by his face.
Here are a couple of pictures of Conner's new little brother!

School Halloween Party

Today at school was the Halloween party. All the kids and some of the parents came dressed up. We had a great time playing. We went trick or treating around the building and then came in for a great Halloween Feast. By the end of it, all of the kids were high on candy and it was pretty certain naps were out for the day!

Here is Conner and Marisa, who just welcomed her baby brother in to the world on Sunday! They are sitting patiently at the table while the parents stand in the buffet line to get them something to eat!

And here is Conner with Teacher Rosie, although he wasn't really wanting his picture taken at that moment!

Our First Trick or Treating Experience!

Well Conner went trick or treating for the first time this year. First he went TOTing at his school, which basically consisted of us parading around the building where a few people were spaced out with buckets of candy. He had no idea what the deal was and I had to bribe him along with M&Ms to each "stop".

But then after dinner we got him dressed up and we hit the neighborhood. He did surprisingly well for not knowing what the deal was. All our neighbors thought he was so cute and would give him extra candy. He looked so cute plodding along dragging his candy bag behind him!

We made it around the block before he finally had enough and mom had to carry him for a ways before she started huffing and puffing, and then dad took over.

It dawned on me that night that this is the one time when its ok for your kid to go up to a perfect stranger and ask for candy. LOL! Hopefully I can teach him the difference as he gets older.

Here's Conner in his costume just before we headed out. He hates wearing hats, so it was a treat to get him to wear it long enough for this photo, even though its not on straight!
